Migrant Women Seen and Heard

These three short films were co-created with migrant women in Northern Ireland. The stories highlighted are: the lack of English interpreters for migrant women with little English, women of colour working in the creative industries, and the repatriation of colonial artefacts to Africa from museums on the island of Ireland.

The film-makers are: Marisa Comeau-Kerege (USA) and Abeer Musawaei (Yemen) - English translators;

Jessi Lovely, (Dominican Republic/Northern Ireland) - women of colour in the creative industries;

Nandi Jola (South Africa) - repatriation of colonial artefacts.

Marisa Comeau-Kerege is the producer of the 'Migrant Women Seen & Heard' series. It is part of a new 'Community TV' channel being developed by Una Murphy, co-founder of Belfast based VIEWdigital: independent community media, with support from Future Screens NI.

Strength in Solidarity: Climate and Food Resilience

Join us for an informative evening to hear from experts and activists who are on the front line of the impacts on our planet from climate change. . How can we build a urban growing infrastructure to best ensure we have food resilience? The panel discussion will be followed with questions and answers from our audience.

The Climate is changing, why aren’t we? Its clear that the climate is changing and this is already affecting our food production here but right across the globe and we need to explore how we can adapt. What is our government doing to ensure we have food resilience? Northern Ireland sure does produce a lot of food but a lot is exported, are we growing the right crops for the future? Lots of questions and we do have some of the answers because as always it is the people who are most affected who have the solutions, we just need the decision makers to pay attention.

All Work and No Pay!

A film screening of 'All Work and No pay' followed by a discussion panel from Global Women's Strike and Reclaim the Agenda.

During the 60's and 70's there was a wave of feminism sweeping across the world and the inequalities that women faced were being spotlighted. How much has changed since then, are we still facing the same barriers to employment? Are we still carrying the bulk of the care in families? Join us for this film screening and panel discussion, as any advancements for women is hard fought, never given freely and that hasn't changed today. Join us to be part of that change.

We have to ask, what will it take for care work to be valued? Let’s put our heads together and join the campaign.

Doors open at 6.30 for hospitality and film will start at 7pm.

International Women’s Day Rally

International Women’s Day Rally

Join us for the big International Women’s Day Rally 2026, under the theme ‘Strength in Solidarity’ we will march through the city of Belfast from Writers Square to City Hall.

It is a celebration and a protest, we are a long way from full equality and we will amplify our campaigns and gain Strength in Solidarity.

We are living in a age where the call to war is being normalised, where the levels of violence against women and girls continues to rise and world leaders grab power, resources and wealth at the cost to our lives and the planet.

When we stand up to bullies, we can win and today we call on everyone to stand strong and hold our own.

MAS Deserve More!

Mas deserve more!  Why Maternal mental health is a feminist issue.

MAS stands for Maternal Advocacy and Support, and is supported through WRDA. It is a great support for mothers young and old. You wouldn’t think 35 is old but the healthcare system describes mums 35 and over as geriatric!

Looking after mothers is essential for the health of the child but we do not have any dedicated facility here in NI to accommodate and support maternal mental health so come along to find out more and see what we can do collectively to create a better system for mums.

Lunch provided, registration required.
